JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board) gives you a one-year route into 200 Level through Direct Entry. If you have your O'Level results and know the course you want, you can be in a university lecture hall as a 200 Level student in about a year. This guide walks you through registration from start to finish.
1. Confirm you are eligible
Most candidates need:
- Five O'Level credits (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
- No more than two sittings.
- Credits in the subjects your chosen course requires. For example, Medicine needs Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

2. Choose your subject combination
You will study three A-Level subjects that match your intended degree. Choose carefully, because your combination decides which courses you can apply for at 200 Level.
3. Pick a study centre
JUPEB is taught at university-affiliated study centres. Choose one close to you, or at the university you hope to attend. Browse approved options on our study centres page.
4. Complete your application
Fill in the online application with your personal details, O'Level information and course choice. You will get an application number immediately. Keep it safe, because you need it to track your status.
5. Make payment and get confirmation
Our team reviews your application and sends payment details and next steps. Once payment is confirmed, you receive your registration confirmation and resumption information from your centre.
What happens after the programme?
After you write and pass the JUPEB examination, you register for JAMB Direct Entry and apply to your chosen university for 200 Level admission. You do not need to write the UTME.
